We opened up considering the first word in the Lord's Prayer: "our" "Our father in Heaven, hallowed be thy name..." We often skip over the word OUR in our study of this text. But it has vast implications for our prayer together. "Our" means that prayer happens in community, "our" means we have brothers and sister who together cry out to a common father, "our" means we recognize God's holiness best in community, "our" means we live in His kingdom best together, "our" means his will is known and lived best together, "our" means the answers to our prayers for provision may be sitting in the room with us, "our" means forgiveness is modeled and encouraged best in community and "our" means we have friends battling temptation along side of us. We're not alone!
We then encouraged those in attendance to exhibit a greater transparency and love for one another in our Hope Community prayer time. People responded to God's Word... needs were expressed, hands were laid, prayers were prayed, tears were shed, Christ was sought and his presence and healing hand were felt among us.
Church lets be committed to one another and show it by the way we pray for one another when we are together in our Hope Communities.
Love you church!
